Center for Career Exploration

Student Groups

Brown Center for Career Exploration staff, Peer Career Advisors, and student workers do programs and presentations throughout the year with student groups, DUGs, residence halls and other groups on campus. We're available to present workshops and programs on the internship, job, and career search, and more.

We love collaborating with student groups and we're here to help you support your group’s internship, job, and career-related programming. From workshops to networking events, we're ready to team up and help all students reflect, connect, and explore their professional futures.

Our team, including staff, Peer Career Advisors, and student workers, is available to share knowledge and provide guidance to help your group create a standout event. Here’s what we offer:

Internship and Job Search Programs

Our PCAs deliver programs on all the pillars of the internships and job search, including, but not limited to:

  • Resumes and Cover Letters
  • How to use the Career Center’s Resources, including Handshake, BrownConnect+, and our Career Exploration Library.
  • Effective interviewing strategies.
  • How to connect with Brown alumni and other professionals doing work that you’re curious about.
  • How to ask a professor for a recommendation.

Event Collaboration

Our goal is to support initiatives that align with our mission to help all students with their career exploration. Events should be open to all students, not limited to specific groups or concentrations and your organization must be a registered Brown University student group. While we cannot provide the same level of resources or formal collaboration to unregistered groups, we can still offer general career advice, networking support, and resume building help. You can read our detailed policies on collaboration here.

We offer two levels of support:

We can co-sponsor your event. This means we'll work with you on things like planning, organization, and promotion. Our name will be attached to the event, and we'll share resources and knowledge to help make it a success. Please note that resource costs, like using CCE space or catering, may be your group's responsibility.

We can help with marketing and promotion, giving your initiative a wider reach without attaching our name to the event.

How to Connect with Us

To get the conversation started, please send your request for an Internship or Job Search Program or Event Collaboration to peercareeradvisors@brown.edu

For Event Collaborations we require a minimum of one month's notice for Amplify collaborations and two months' notice for Partnerships. We will consider submissions outside these timeframes on a case-by-case basis.

What to Include: Your request should include your group's name, primary contact, a brief event description, the purpose and goals, the expected audience, and the level of support you are seeking. It’s OK if you don’t have a fully formed idea. Just tell us what you’re thinking and we can get in touch to talk things over.
