Strategic Location:

Brown University is located in Providence, RI, making it a convenient location to engage and recruit at as it is situated in the northeast of the United States with close proximity to Boston and NYC by train. Opportunities to engage with Brown students

There are many different ways to directly engage with Brown students throughout the year. To schedule time to be on campus for these or other customized recruiting activities, please contact the Employer Partnership team at recruiting@brown.edu.

Use Handshake to post full-time and internship opportunities and events. If you are an alumni of Brown, you can post opportunities in BrownConnect+, Brown’s alumni networking platform.

Attended by more than 2000 undergraduates, graduate students and alumni, career fairs provide employers with opportunities to engage directly with Brown students. Review the recruiting calendar for a list of Brown’s upcoming career fairs. Registrations are through Handshake.

These industry events combine speed networking with mini info sessions. Students are split into small groups, and each organization gets a set time to share a brief pitch with each group before rotating to the next. This format lets you highlight what makes your firm unique. After the rotations, there will be time for open networking and student questions. This event can be in-person or virtual. Review the recruiting calendar for a list of Brown’s upcoming spotlight events. Registrations are through Handshake.

Informal meetings between students and employers offer a casual, relaxed atmosphere. Typically hosted on Mondays-Fridays between 9 am to 3 pm ET for 10-30 minute slots per student, depending on recruiting needs. Brown’s Employer Partner team will support by reserving spaces on-campus, promoting to students, and any additional accommodations. Presentation and Q&A sessions provide students with insights into job opportunities, company culture, career paths, and application procedures. Typically hosted on Mondays-Thursdays between 12-1 pm ET or in the evening after 5 pm ET. Sessions can be hosted at Brown’s Career Center or in a lecture hall on-campus depending on the number of registered students. Brown’s Employer Partner team will support by reserving spaces on-campus, promoting to students, and any additional accommodations. Any on-campus event planned needs to be submitted to Handshake for full-approval. Email recruiting@brown.edu today to set-up your on-campus information session!

Through structured and interactive learning experiences,  participants actively engage in hands-on activities, discussions, and exercises to enhance their understanding and proficiency in the workshop's topic. Typically hosted on Mondays-Thursdays between 12-1 pm ET or in the evening after 5 pm ET. Workshops can be hosted at Brown’s Career Center or in a lecture hall on-campus depending on the number of registered students. Brown’s Employer Partner team will support by reserving spaces on-campus, promoting to students, and any additional accommodations. A way to still engage with Brown students from anywhere around the globe. All virtual engagements need to be posted on Handshake. There is no fee to host a virtual event and can be hosted at any day and time.

    Handshake is the employer job and event platform that Brown utilizes. It provides access to a large network of current Brown students and recent graduates. Employers can post jobs and internships, participate in virtual or in-person career fairs, schedule on-campus interviews, manage applications, and connect directly with students.   • How do I post my job, internship, and event on Handshake?
    Handshake’s Help Center has articles regularly updated with information on how to post a job/internship and event. Email recruiting@brown.edu if you are experiencing any issues.
     
  • How can my organization be part of the Core Employer Program?
    To be a Core Employer, an organization must participate in and/or host at least 2 events (in-person or virtual) offered only to Brown students, post jobs/internships to Brown using Handshake, and if possible provide Brown-specific hiring data by July 1 of each year.
     
  • I am an alum looking to hire Brown students, where can I share my opportunity?
    You can share your opportunity with current Brown students and alumni on Handshake and/or BrownConnect+Alumni or organizations with a Brown alumnus/a who recruit Brown students for internships through Handshake are eligible to be highlighted to students as a Bruno Employer. Bruno Employers receive prominent placement within the student internship search platform Handshake and indicate the organization’s shared connection to Brown. Opportunities posted by Bruno Employers typically yield a greater number of applications from Brown students.
  • How do I schedule an on-campus recruiting event?
    Email the Employer Partnership Team at recruiting@brown.edu to schedule your on-campus recruiting event. All events must be posted to Handshake for full approval.

    Yes! Brown hosts a variety of career fairs and industry spotlights throughout the academic year. Please review the calendar for specific dates and Brown’s Handshake for registration information.

    Brown has 400+ undergraduate and graduate student groups on-campus. Each student group has a listed email address that you can reach out to.

    To collaborate with faculty, you will need to reach out directly to academic departments or specific individuals that align with your organization’s efforts.
