Biography

Scottye joined the Center for Career Exploration in June 2024.  A member of the Brown class of 1989, Scottye began his working career at Saks Fifth Avenue in the buying office. He has worked in finance since completing his MBA at Cornell in 1995.  His experience includes working in corporate investments at MetLife as well as portfolio monitoring and credit risk management within the corporate and investment banking division at Deutsche Bank where he spent over 20 years. For the last three years he has been in charge of evaluating leveraged buyouts within investment banking credit risk management at Santander.  In addition to banking, Scottye spent a year in public service serving on Governor Gina Raimondo’s cabinet as Director of the Department of Business Regulation for the state of Rhode Island.  

In his management roles, Scottye has recruited at levels ranging from analyst to director, provided career advice to junior colleagues, and supported the recruitment of diverse candidates.  He considers himself lucky to be able to learn from students, join them on their career exploration into finance and consulting, and share his knowledge and experience.
