Many students have questions about their career journey, including how to get started and what options may be available. The Center for Career Exploration’s career counselors are experts at helping you make a plan and get started. Students who meet with career counselors feel less stress and more confidence about their career decision making because they are in more control of the process.
Appointments
Appointments scheduled through Brown’s main jobs board, Handshake, are 30 minutes and are available in person, on Zoom, or by phone. No preparation for these meetings is necessary. Just schedule your appointment, and the counselor will take it from there.
You can use these meetings to talk through a range of topics, including:
- Connecting your concentrations or interests to possible jobs/careers
- Taking a career inventory to figure out options that align with your skills, values, interests and personality
- Practicing your job interview or networking skills
- Conducting an effective job/internship search
- Managing multiple offers
- Negotiating your job offer
