SPRINT Terms & Conditions

What are the terms of the SPRINT Award Programs?

Below are the terms and requirements of the SPRINT Award program, both for SPRINT overall and then program specific. If a student received a SPRINT Award they must agree to the terms, and to contact the SPRINT Team immediately if there are any changes to their funded experience or if they have problems completing the requirements.

  • I will complete all requirements of my SPRINT program, including the program specific items specified on the SPRINT FAQ page.
  • I will complete my opportunity during the summer by September 1, 2024
  • I understand that if I receive and accept funding from another non-SPRINT source on campus for the same summer 2024 internship or another full time endeavor, I cannot accept a SPRINT/SEW Award.
  • I agree to contact the SPRINT team immediately if there are any changes to this internship or if I have problems completing the requirements.
  • I will adhere to Brown’s Travel Policies and High-Risk and Restricted Travel Policies. To receive funding, all eligible students must register travel plans in TravelSafe [Sponsoring Department: Center for Career Exploration or Dean of the College; Purpose of Travel: Internship or Research].
  • If my program requires international travel, I will adhere to the University's travel policies, including registering my travel in TravelSafe and completing a Safety Plan for review and approval of High Risk travel, as applicable. I understand that if the location of my internship changes to High-Risk after I have started my program abroad, I may be asked to complete a Safety Plan or the internship program may be canceled and shifted to a remote experience, if possible.
  • I understand that if I receive and accept this award I will not receive priority consideration for a future SPRINT award (including LINK, UTRA, Signature programs).
  • I understand that I may not simultaneously receive a SPRINT award and take summer classes at Brown or elsewhere.  In order to accept a SPRINT award, I will confirm that I will not register for summer undergraduate courses at Brown or elsewhere.

If the project requires the use of human subjects, including interviews, please review the website on Human Subjects Research for the process of getting the necessary approval: https://go.brown.edu/research/IRB-review
  • If selected, I understand that in order to receive the full benefits of this research and learning experience, I am expected to meet regularly with my mentor, to remain intellectually engaged in the research project, and to discuss all expectations and requirements with my mentor.
